Tony + Amy @ Changlun

October 30, 2010

After the Same-Day-Edit slideshow, here comes the photos. Changlun is a place where I’ve passed several times on the way to Hatyai, but never actually been in or around the town. At first I thought this would be your usual wedding but boy was I so wrong. After communicating with Tony it turns out that the guests numbers in excess of 2200!!! That’s 220 tables. So it left me wondering how in the world can you find a place big enough to fit 220 tables with room to spare? As it turns out – there IS such a place.

So with that in mind, I had to call my buddies Hayashi, Ckvin and lovu4ever for help. As you can see from the photos, the fetch the bride session consists of cars that were very drool worthy. And among them is my puny little Ford.. haha. Everything was planned to near perfection – especially the dinner function and the way the hall was prepared. Pheeww, I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.

Here are the results from our collaboration and the highlights of the day. Sorry for the huge number of photos but I had to include it – this is a beautiful wedding.

Kenneth + Janet @ Sitiawan

October 16, 2010

Sitiawan – a place I’ve never stepped foot on or thought of visiting. But as fate would have it, I was engaged by Kenneth to shoot his wedding in this sleepy town. And so it was a merry adventure for me and my shooting buddy, Jack, navigating the dark, unlit roads on the way to Sitiawan the night before the wedding. Even hitting a huge a** pothole did not deter our spirits – I thought the tire was gonna suffer a puncture; it was that big. So anyhow, we arrived in Sitiawan safe and sound, and the first thing that struck us was – why is the Internet connection in Sitiawan so much faster? Youtube videos loads without buffering, and web pages loaded in a jiffy. Hmmm…

Well although the wedding dinner was not held in some fancy posh hotel or location, the wedding mood was still very much in abundant. The laughters, the yum sengs, the singing, the bubbly kids and the faces on Kenneth and Janet says it all. A very happy occasion indeed. Here’s some highlights of the day’s photos to share with you. This is a bit late but to Kenneth and Janet, here’s wishing you both a happily wedded blissful life as one.

That’s all folks! Hope you enjoyed viewing the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Tony + Amy SDE @ Changlun

September 22, 2010

It wasn’t about a week before the wedding that I got to know that there will be 2200 guests at the dinner. O.M.G. And it completely threw out whatever I had in my mind – which is about probably 50 tables. LOL. Good lesson to always communicate, communicate and communicate. So, back to this SDE. Groom is from Changlun, Kedah. Bride from all the way in Bangkok. But both of them worked in KL… which explains this union. So Tony has his bunch of buddies drive all the way from (mostly) Penang to help in the pick-up-the-bride session. And my oh my, all yummy nice cars! It was so nice to see both Tony and Amy with ever ready smiles – helped no doubt by the “heng tais” and “chi muis”.

All photos were shot with the help of my buddies Ckvin, Hayashi and Jack. Enjoy the SDE while I go back and edit the photos… pheeew.

P/S: As always, click on play and then pause for the video to load to enjoy uninterrupted viewing (only applicable if you’re viewing from Malaysia). Thank you.

Chin Ping + Yih Fang @ Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion

July 7, 2010

Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion. Within the confines of its rich heritage and magnificent building, Chin Ping and Yih Fang both decided to hold their wedding here. Both of them are now working in UK, so they had friends and family from all over fly in to join them in this joyous occasion. This is my first time shooting here, but with the easy going nature of the couple, the day’s shoot went through like a breeze. Also a first for me, was shooting the couple taking a trishaw ride within the vicinity of Georgetown.

Although it was just a short ride, I couldn’t catch up with the trishaws and had to take “short cuts” in order to shoot some of the photos. Says a lot about my stamina level.

After the dinner, the couple and excellent dancers from their friends and relatives danced the night away while me and teetoo called it a night. As we left the building tired from all the shooting, they were still dancing. I wonder where they get their energy from. To CP and Yih Fang, here’s wishing you all the best in your married life.
