Ricky + Elva @ St. Regis, Bali

December 1, 2011

Location // St. Regis Bali Resort
Make up & Hair Do // Cindy Lin
Gown // Vera Wang
Cinematography // CST Production
Wedding Cake // Wayan Laspina / St. Regis

There are great weddings. And THEN there are great weddings in a great location.

The place, the style, the food, the service, the planning all gelled together. When Ricky and Elva invited us to be their official photographer for their wedding in Bali, we were thrilled. What we didn’t know at the time was how beautiful St. Regis is, and how everything was so well thought out and planned. Add to the fact that we’re officially honored to be officially chosen to be the the official photographers – simply because Ricky himself is a photographer as well back in Toronto, it makes our heart tickle a little. :)

This was a very intimate function with close family and friend joining the couple in their ceremony of a lifelong union. I hope you love these images as much as we do. And thank you Ricky and Elva for being such gracious host and such a sport!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Chris + JJ

May 15, 2011

Location: Alor Setar
Shooting Buddy: Hayashi
MUA: Angela
Entertainers: Lion Dance

This was a wedding where the distance between the groom and bride’s place is the shortest I’ve ever encountered. How short? Try walking from groom’s place to bride’s place, for all of 100 meters. Yeah, so complete with 2 Lion Dance and a lot of fanfare, Chris walked to fetch his bride accompanied by his heng tais in a matter of 5 minutes. :P

So, I leave it to you to enjoy the day’s happening as what was captured by my camera. Have fun! :)

Jon + Angelene @ 32 Mansion

March 25, 2011

Jon & Angelene. Smiles and laughter. It’s like these words go hand-in-hand with their personality. As evidenced by the photos shown here, it was simply a joy photographing them. They flew from Perth all the way to Penang; and together with friends and family from all over the world, came together to celebrate and witness this lovely couple’s wedding day. And then there was the VW… people stopped and walked over just to take a look at this cutie, it was simply awesome. Dinner reception at 32 Mansion was amazing as well, we heard stories and rousing speeches from friends and family that put a smile and lots of laughter to everyone’s faces. As wines and beverages flowed freely… the kisses came flying fast and freely too! The night continued with Jon & Angelene having the first dance and others joined in later… and dance they did!

Here’s some photos of them on this joyous day. To Jon & Angelene – I wish you both laughter, smiles and happy forever.

Tony + Amy SDE @ Changlun

September 22, 2010

It wasn’t about a week before the wedding that I got to know that there will be 2200 guests at the dinner. O.M.G. And it completely threw out whatever I had in my mind – which is about probably 50 tables. LOL. Good lesson to always communicate, communicate and communicate. So, back to this SDE. Groom is from Changlun, Kedah. Bride from all the way in Bangkok. But both of them worked in KL… which explains this union. So Tony has his bunch of buddies drive all the way from (mostly) Penang to help in the pick-up-the-bride session. And my oh my, all yummy nice cars! It was so nice to see both Tony and Amy with ever ready smiles – helped no doubt by the “heng tais” and “chi muis”.

All photos were shot with the help of my buddies Ckvin, Hayashi and Jack. Enjoy the SDE while I go back and edit the photos… pheeew.

P/S: As always, click on play and then pause for the video to load to enjoy uninterrupted viewing (only applicable if you’re viewing from Malaysia). Thank you.

Chin Ping + Yih Fang @ Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion

July 7, 2010

Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion. Within the confines of its rich heritage and magnificent building, Chin Ping and Yih Fang both decided to hold their wedding here. Both of them are now working in UK, so they had friends and family from all over fly in to join them in this joyous occasion. This is my first time shooting here, but with the easy going nature of the couple, the day’s shoot went through like a breeze. Also a first for me, was shooting the couple taking a trishaw ride within the vicinity of Georgetown.

Although it was just a short ride, I couldn’t catch up with the trishaws and had to take “short cuts” in order to shoot some of the photos. Says a lot about my stamina level.

After the dinner, the couple and excellent dancers from their friends and relatives danced the night away while me and teetoo called it a night. As we left the building tired from all the shooting, they were still dancing. I wonder where they get their energy from. To CP and Yih Fang, here’s wishing you all the best in your married life.
